The Adapt Medium Hybrid is 1 of 3 Hybrid models (the Pro Series hybrid comes with and without the Breeze technology) in the Tempurpedic lineup. This model combines a next generation cooling cover with legacy Tempurpedic foams, and the balanced supportive feel of a coil system underneath the comfort layers. The Adapt Medium hybrid provides incredible balance. We have found this model is ideal for back or stomach sleepers. While the Adapt Medium hybrid does not provide quite enough conformance for side sleepers, it is easy to turn over on the bed, and you instantly feel the springiness of the mattress under the Tempur material. For those looking to stay in the value price range for Tempurpedic this mattress serves as the better of the two models in the Adapt series, and our recommendation if you are not ready to step up to a Pro-Adapt mattress.
The Adapt Medium hybrid uses legacy Tempur material through a proprietary combination of their Tempur-ES foams and their Original Tempur material. These foams on their own provide a good balanced level of comfort and support. It is noticeable when testing this model that the hybrid uses a little bit less foam layers in the bed as compared to the Adapt all foam option, and you immediately feel the springs when lying down. This is both a positive and a negative. One of the main benefits of Tempurpedic is the pressure relief it provides to prevent and tossing and turning. While I liked it was a little easier to turn over on the Adapt hybrid due to the springs, it was not a huge difference. As a side sleeper, the mattress did not contour enough around my hip and shoulder complex. When testing the mattress on my back or stomach it was a great balance between support and pressure relief. If you like the supportive feel of coils, like the ability to easily turn over at night, and don't mind that you will feel a little more pressure than the all foam option this could be a great fit.
The Adapt Medium Hybrid utilizes many of the same technology features found inside the Adapt Medium. The high molecular weight yarn disperses heat very well, especially over the 1st 15 minutes you are on the mattress. This enhanced cooling cycle is a critical window as most people fall asleep within 7-10 minutes of lying down. The main innovation inside the Adapt Hybrid comes with the 1,000 Dynamic Support coils used in the base layer of the bed. These coils provide a more balanced supportive feel, ease the process of turning over, and improve the feeling of support with Tempurpedic's legacy foams. We really like that despite the addition of the coils in the mattress we did not feel any increase in the amount of motion transfer as compared to the Adapt Medium. Overall, Tempurpedic reserved their biggest innovation for the Pro and Luxe series models.
The hybrid category of mattresses has been the fastest growing segment of beds in the industry for years now. This technology undoubtedly provides a happy medium for those looking for the pressure relief of an all foam mattress with the support of a coil bed. During our test period, we found the Adapt Medium Hybrid provided incredible support into the small of your back and neck and upper spine while testing the mattress on your back. We also found the medium feel of the hybrid combined with the support of the coil system was ideal for stomach sleepers. Our overall feedback was positive, but was limited due to the fact the mattress did not provide quite enough pressure relief while testing the bed on your side.
The combination of the dynamic support coil system with the higher density foams used more generally by Tempurpedic create a much more supportive feel than the all foam Adapt model. The balanced and supportive feel of the mattress will stand the test of time. One of my favorite aspects of a Tempurpedic is the consistency of the feel during the life of the mattress. For decades now Tempurpedic has stood the test of time. The quality coil system used with the legacy foams inside the mattress ensure a supportive medium firm feel for years to come.
Tempurpedic has long been known for the durability and quality of the materials they use. This is backed by their 10 year warranty which includes coverage of any mattress over 3/4 of an inch within the warranty period. This impression requirement is by far the industry today in the market place.
The Adapt Medium Hybrid combines a high quality coil system with the advanced pressure relief of Tempur material. This combination of support layers makes this the better value in the Adapt line. The Adapt line starts at a higher price range than other comparable hybrid mattresses, so it's important to consider your other options in the hybrid category before making a selection.
Overall, the support of the Adapt Medium Hybrid is one of the best in the industry, and a great fit for those that sleep on their back or stomach. If you are looking for the best price in the Adapt lineup combined with the strong support of their advanced coil system this mattress is a great fit.
